No Visitors/ Social Isolation

This location is at the end of a long road with no side walks. At the end of a road with very little lighting at night. At the end of a road that I had to walk for a few weeks, like many, many others. I was blessed with a mini-van mid-February from my oldest daughter. I will never forget what it feels like to not be able to leave here. I am on SSI for mobility issues, documented with an MRI. There are women in wheel chairs out here with no transportation whatsoever. It is THE most hopeless I have felt in my life.

Back to the isolation. 500 Hunter’s Point Expressway is not an address registered with post office, so Uber will not pick up here. Doordash, Amazon, nor Safeway deliver.

However, right up there next to it is the unkind and utterly unnecessary rule of “No Visitors” which has been the hardest for me to accept because I have cancer. End of story. I need my people. I need their help. And over and over, they have been harassed or told to leave car outside and walk in, as happened to ME in video below. Before I pushed “record”, I was told by UA guard at gate, I had to walk in, but my friend couldn’t enter. Then he relented. That’s me saying thank you to him, then as we drive in, its my friend Mitzi Fata and I talking about what had just happened

He never replied. No one one has ever answered my direction question, where do they get the authority – what law or code – to deny people in the free world to have visitors?

Its not just me. It hurts everyone out here.

Here’s an audio of my immediate next door neighbor asking if his wife can visit, even though she lived here from day #1 of the place opening. She accepted the offer to move to a studio apartment, for her health. He remained here in order to repair their RV.
